I am officially backed to Singapore. Miss me???? :D. In the previous post I have told you what I have been doing in Phuket, now it is time for me to tell you what I did in Bangkok. I flew to Bangkok with one purpose is to attend my god-brother monk ceremony, this is because this is a rare chance for my god-brother to be a monk and the ceremony is the most important as it is the time where everyone waiting, as after this ceremony, we will hardly see him in person and girls will not able to stand near him anymore. For someone to decide to be a monk is really hard as they will be in the temple and learn all about Buddhism and also need to meditate. Since so long I know my god-brother, he is the person who sleeps like early in the morning 5am and wake up at 3pm. He will also smoke and drink everyday with his friends some how he kind of have party every nights. It is a rare chance to see him out of smoking and drinking for a monk in the temple. I cant believe it though however he have decide to be a monk I think he has already prepared himself for that.
I heard about him going to be a monk about 2 months ago, when I called him for some reason. I told him I will give a surprise soon (which is I will fly to Bangkok to cerebrate his birthday which is on 8th June). However when I told him that he say he will also give me a surprise, and in the end at the end of the conversation I know he going to be a monk for a month. It is surprise me and I think it is really good for him, hope he going to change to a better person after a month in the temple. I might have high hope for him as I hope his family will love him and trust him more after he is out of temple. I really hope he will quit smoking and stay at home more often to take care of his parents and they work very hard for the family.
So 31st May, I flew to Bangkok in the morning at 1130am reach there about 1250pm, his sis came to fetch me at the airport as usual my god-brother haven’t wake up yet. After that went to his house and of course I went to take nab as I was too tired. Then about 4+ went to the airport to fetch my brother then that day we have dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant, the food dam nice. Haha.
1st June: The cut hair day for my god-brother. The whole family went to the temple by 12pm as the ceremony starts at 1pm, and we need to cut his hair at the temple along with 123 guys that going to be monk too. They all cut their hair at the same time. It is so cool when you see all 123 guys together so quiet and neat. Haha. They like all going to be NS.
2nd June: The ceremony itself. That day we need to wake up at 5am as we need to reach the temple by 630am. Then you will see all the 123 guys wore white prepare to become monk. That is when I feel happy and sad inside my heart as I want my god-brother to change however I know it is not an easy task to be inside there. That day a lot people came to see him and most of his friends came too.
3rd June: First day for the new monk to go on for offering. This is the first day when the new monk does the job as a monk so his parents and I went to temple in the morning again to give him offering (food); his parents prepare all good food for him though. That what every parents do for their son that become monk. After that I went shopping which his sis in law and his sis.
Last Day: His parents and I along with his sis went to the temple again to give offering and also to tell him that I will be back to Singapore. Didn’t do much thing that day.
